2. COMPANY REPORT
In addition, AAGE members will have the option of purchasing a 'company' report summarising the feedback from just their own candidates for $200 + GST. The availability of a company report will be dependent upon receiving a minimum number of responses from that employer's candidates (at this stage we anticipate a minimum of 10 responses will be required).

Objective
The Candidate Survey is a new service for Australian employers. The survey will provide organisations with up-to-date information and insight on candidates' views and experiences during the graduate recruitment process. Only candidates who have accepted employment at a participating organisation will be surveyed ensuring that only high quality, active job seekers are providing us with feedback.
Who will be surveyed?
Our aim is to survey all the graduates who are joining an employer as part of the 2008 graduate intake.
In order to compare "apples with apples" we want to survey candidates who will be joining their employer's 2008 graduate program. Typically this will mean that we will be surveying graduates who are joining their employer in the second half of 2007 or in the first half of 2008. We would expect that these candidates would be finishing their degree sometime during 2007. The candidates we are targeting are those who have been exposed to employers, marketing campaigns and application processes in recent months and who have accepted a graduate position with one of the employers they applied to. These candidates will include:
- Candidates recruited sometime during 2007 as part of the annual graduate recruitment process
- Candidates recruited following completion of some form of vacation/internship/clerkship program that took place in Winter 2006 or Summer 2006/2007
- Candidates recruited following completion of some form of co-operative/work experience/industry based learning program that took place in 2006 or 2007.
How will it work?
The AAGE has created an on-line survey consisting of a single set of generic questions which can be answered by any student (regardless of the organisation/industry they are joining) i.e. all respondents answer the same questions.
The AAGE will provide each participating organisation with a communication e-mail containing an electronic link to this survey. Each employer can then e-mail this link to its own graduates i.e. those candidates who have accepted a graduate offer with their organisation.
This mechanism means that the confidential details of each organisation's candidates are not disclosed. It also means that the request to complete the survey will originate from the organisation that the graduate is joining.
What will it cost?
1. Detailed Summary Report
Every AAGE member organisation whose candidates provide feedback by the closing date will be provided with a free copy of a detailed summary report which summarises the feedback from all the candidates who complete the questionnaire.
Non-AAGE members will be able to participate in the survey but will need to purchase the detailed summary report. The fee will be $400 + GST. (Non-members may choose to join the AAGE for an annual subscription of $350 + GST in order to qualify for a complimentary report. To apply to join the AAGE please submit the Membership Application Form).
2. Company report
In addition, AAGE members will have the option of purchasing a 'company' report summarising the feedback from just their own candidates for $200 + GST. The availability of a company report will be dependent upon receiving a minimum number of responses from that employer's candidates (at this stage we anticipate a minimum of 10 responses will be required).
Non-AAGE Members who participate in the survey will also be able to purchase their own individual company report for $400 + GST.
Confidentiality
All the data collected will be managed by High Fliers Research (High Fliers are an independent market research company who currently manage the AAGE's Annual Employer Survey).
No specific data provided by individual candidates or by candidates of individual organisations will be shared or made public. Candidates complete the survey anonymously. Only details about future employer, degree subject and university are collected. Name, address and contact details are not requested.
Benefits
The key selling point of the Candidate Survey is that it only targets high quality graduates who have been actively seeking graduate employment with Australian organisations. Every single respondent will have been offered at least one graduate position and is likely to have applied to several employers. The AAGE believes that this methodology makes the Candidate Survey an extremely valuable product when compared to other survey products which collect information from the whole university population.
Timeframe
The Candidate Survey will be live from Wednesday 25th July 2007 until Friday 21st September 2007. Organisations will be able to send the questionnaire to their own candidates at a time of their own choosing as long as it is within this window.
We are aiming to collate the data in time for the AAGE's annual Graduate Recruitment & Development Conference from 12th to 14th November 2007.
Q: What if your organisation doesn't make offers within this timeframe?
The on-line survey will be kept open until Friday 14 December 2007 to enable you to collect data purely from your own candidates. You will be able to purchase your own individual company report but you will have to purchase the detailed summary report because your own candidates are not included.
